Beary Good Oatmeal

We got this idea from Sprout's Diner. The girls just love it and it has become a family favorite.

1 Cup Old Fashioned oats
1 Cup water
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Decorations: You can use craisins, raisins, blueberries (dried or fresh), raspberries, honey, cinnamon and sugar (C&S) decoration (whatever you have on hand). I use craisins, dried blueberries, C&S, and almonds. Ours looks like a Koala!
1. Bring oats, water and milk to a boil. Reduce heat to low and cook for approxiamately 5-8 minutes until all the liquid is absorbed and the oatmeal thickens.

2. Add the vanilla extract, stir well.

3. Spoon the oatmeal onto the serving plate and shape into a bear face, round face and two round ears. Use honey to make the face shiny or C&S for color. Then make eyes and mouth using whatever decorations you want. My girls like to do this part.

Variation: Stir in some chopped apples and a sprinkle of flaxseed meal into step#2 for a nutritional boost.

Very Fun!
